I'm jealous of all those sea days and thinking I may need to book me a transatlantic for the next time.

When I booked our cruise months ago, the Princess rep said they would not be able to open the balcony partitions because they are different categories. That seemed odd and I am hoping it is not true. Do you by any chance know if we will be able to have the baloncy partition open if we have a deluxe balcony next to a mini-suite?

Thanks for this wonderful discussion board! The discussion board for our particular cruise doesn't have much activity.
Well that doesn't make any sense does it? Maybe shogun can ask one of the crew onboard if this is true?

On a side note, here is a picture posted earlier by billco from the Princess Cruises Facebook page and shows the Royal Princess departing out on her final sea trials late last month. It shows just how much overhang you'll have from the deck above you...

Is there any news on the Chef's Table, and how it will be available?

Has anyone heard anything else about the beverage islands in the Horizon Court?

Information from Princess appeared to state that there would not be self serve beverage stations in the HC. That would mean no complementary tea bags and hot water available for me to make decent iced tea I might need to bring my own tea bags and beg for hot water at the IC

Where did you read/hear that?
I can't imagine a ship without self-serve coffee and tea stations in or very close to the buffet.

I think the passengers on the two Preview Cruises will give us an idea of just how this system works in real life!

“Buffets on cruise ships tend to be an Achilles heel because of the heavy traffic,” he said.

Princess has eliminated beverage stations in Horizon Court and will have wait staff bring drinks to passengers’ tables.

I stand corrected on the part about a beverage station in the Horizon Court.
Doesn't say a word about a charge and doesn't Princess already try to have waiter beverage service during high traffic times?
I still say there will be a self serve station somewhere near the Buffet.
I, for one, always get a cup of tea just before bed and take it back to the cabin with me. It just doesn't make sense to have a waiter standing around at midnight, waiting to get that for me.

It's going to be one of those 'wait and see' aspects of the ship that by the end of the month maybe will know all the answers to. And if not, certainly by time the preview cruise passengers come off in less than a month. I have read elsewhere that they hired a large number of additional staff for the Horizon Court venues specifically for the purpose of getting passengers drinks.

When you order your drinks from the server just order hot tea. I would think that they will give you hot water and a choice of tea bags. Just ask for a few glasses of ice. My DW does it frequently on and off a ship. She wants Decaf. She also sometimes brings her own tea, but never has trouble making her own iced tea.

..and before we hung up- my OBC letter was in my e-mail...

This was the last Princess related paperwork to get settled before our Royal cruise......

We are bringing a net book...so we might do a live from thread...

Awesome I am sailing 11/17 and have 6 cabins for a group of us those two happen to be mine and my good friends would love to see pictures if you get a chance!! Have a great cruise!!
Just went back and re-read your post. I may have L229 and 231 will have to double check. I do have 5 cabins in a row it's 2 minis, 1 deluxe balcony and 2 regular I am going to be really disappointed if they can't all have the partition opened we had planned to for all 5 cabins.

We very seldom eat in the HC. I often go up before bed and fill up a 16 oz insulated mug and add a tea bag or two. I have a bit before bed and then put the rest in our fridge. It will just be more of a hassle to deal with the waitstaff

Default Free Ultimate Soda & More

Just an FYI, I had my TA change our room on our 11/24 sailing since price for mini suite was much less now then when I originally booked our D4 balcony. In doing so, Princess informed him that we were eligible for the Ultimate Soda & More package for free for DH and I. This includes the sodas, juices, mocktails and milkshakes, a $98 dollar value! My TA figured Princess was running a special little promotion. Just wanted to share!
