Default B2B Questions

We are doing a b2b in 2013. Just wondering if I would be able to do laundry after coming back on ship after going through customs? Where would we be able to have lunch? Would we be able to do the Bon Voyage Experince?
Told you I had questions.

Can't answer about laundry. The BVE is not intended for passengers but visitors. BVE includes a free embarkation photo, a ships tour of public areas and lunch in the MDR with a glass of wine.

I was on a b2b last year on the Star and was able to do laundry on turnaround day. It was locked at first, but I asked one of the nearby cabin stewards if it would be opened. He made a phone call and someone soon came up to unlock the doors. I'm sorry I can't remember what we did for lunch that day. I know it was warm and sunny, so we may have just eaten pizza or hamberger outside by the pool. They were both open by noon and of course the International Cafe was open as well. We do normally eat lunch in the main dining room if it's open.

You should be able to do laundry, especially since your ship will be docked in Fort Lauderdale. I've only encountered locked laundry rooms on one cruise years ago. If you have any doubt, you could ask the cabin steward in the area of the laundry room. They're usually the ones who lock and unlock the door each day.

You will get a letter in your cabin the last day of the first cruise. It contains full instructions for turnaround day, and also your new cruise card and an in transit pass will be enclosed. Princess is WONDERFUL about handling in transit passengers...they have it down to a science. You will have two choices about going through immigration: 1.) leave the ship whenever you want once it is cleared, but can't reboard until the ship count is "zeroed out" usually about 10:30am to 11:00am (or anytime later); or 2.) gather with the other in transit passengers about 9:30am or 10:00am, walk off the ship together, walk through immigration, and check back on the ship with the new cruise card. You can then leave the ship again, or do laundry...whatever you want. Lunch will be served in the dining room or Horizon Court buffet, just as on any sea day.

You definitely can do the BVE on another Princess ship on turnaround day. Just make sure to arrange it ahead of time, as it is basically another booking with its own online registration requirements.

The time we did a B2B, after the group was taken through customs and re-boarded, we were served lunch in the Horizon Court before all the new passengers began to board. So it was just our small group and many of the ship's officers. Very quiet. Toward the end of the meal, arriving passengers began to come in.

We have done several b2b and the only issue we have ever had was in San Pedro (LA) our home port, on the Sapphire. That time we did walk off with the other in-transits but instead of walking right back on we had to wait around more than an hour because ONE departing passenger did not leave the ship on time and the ship couldn't be cleared. I am still not sure who I hold responsible in addition to that person. At the time I thought we should have not been escorted off until all other passengers had left just as a precaution.

We still had plenty of time to do whatever we wanted once back on board but there were no seats in the terminal building and several of us got cranky before we could reboard.

We had the same experience waiting for 2 passengers on our last B2B. over 150 people waiting for 30 minutes in the terminal until the 2 people decided to show up.
