I'm going on a cruise in December 2012, but after doing some research on the ship i heard some rumours of a drydocking scheduled for the end of 2012 for the Sea Princess. After doing some digging i found this website which if you look closely is going into dry dock prior to it's voyage from San Francisco to Sydney.
http://www.sf-port.org/index.aspx?page=1801 Does anyone know what work is scheduled to take place on the ship? Especially since i've heard alot of reviews describing how she is showing some age. Sea Princess - 03/12/2012 Radiance of the Seas - 15/01/2012 Crown Princess - 15/01/2010 |

All ships have a dry or wet dock every 2-3 years. The salt water, seas and dockings do a number on the ship.

got into SFO in the early morning and disembarked a full load of passengers, loaded about 600 contract workers and sailed a little after noon to pier 70 for the drydock.

The people I talked to were working in the engine room, painting and decorating, installing a new show setup, doing some software upgrades, tiling, working on heating and air conditioning, working on chemicals...

Drove by pier 70 yesterday and the Sea is out of the water. they must be doing a scraping or painting of the lower hull. Maybe some engine work.
