We are Elite in the Captain's Circle, but our previous cruises and history were removed from our signature because so many were complaining about the time it took to load the pages with all the listings and photos at the bottom of each post. I see I am one of the few that took other's feeling into consideration though.

I love the complimentary laundry service we receive onboard, but I am also one that tries hard not to abuse the perk, as I would like to see it continue.

No I am not, having only 9 cruises with Princess; but I have not occupied a cabin less than a VS on each of those cruises which entitled us to free laundry as well.

While we are polling, how many of those 15 cruises were in an inside cabin? Hmmmm?

I don't understand what difference this makes - an inside cabin counts as much credit to elite as an outside, balcony or mini???? What is the point here?

The thread was about the laundry perk Ron, remember?

If one occupies an inside at $599 per week with a $500-$700 laundry bill there is a big difference to the pockets at Princess.

Again, what difference does it make what one pays for the cabin - if you are elite you get the laundry perk no matter what kind of cabin or how much you spend on board. If Princess did not want elite in inside cabins to use it they would have stipulated it in the offer.

Ron

We are. I don't show previous cruises because, frankly, no one really gives a darn.

And, just for the record, I'd have to guess that about half of our cruise days were spent in inside cabins. But still, DH once estimated that we spent about $35,000 with Princess to get our socks washed for free. Accounting like that makes me happy that we've always cruised the cruises we wanted regardless of cruise line, have never chosen a cruise to get to a particular loyalty level, and still don't choose cruise lines just because of our loyalty levels.

Perhaps we should all take a look at the original post. It was merely making a statement that the express service was no longer included in the elite perk. It sure has deviated from that. The original post didn't really require a return comment.

Good for you! Do you feel it necessary to justify the amount of laundry you send out? I hope not since you seem to be pretty independent in your thinking. My questions was aimed at those that are NOT Elite members who seem to think they are the "laundry police".
No one (especially one who is not entitled to the benefits) has the right to "police" how each person uses it. No one said that abuses are okay. And as far as the cost of laundry vs. the cost of an inside room....pllleeeease. We know people who could afford a suite on every cruise but choose inside and spend their money on other things such as bingo, art, booze, shore excursions, specialty restaurants etc, etc. We on the other hand prefer balcony cabins & mini-suites and would rather have
that expense and cut back on onboard spending.

Correct again, Ron. My apologies for the ranting.

We're Elite, and I've never shown previous cruises. Lots of upcoming ones, but no past ones.

A poster on here said...$599 for an inside cabin for a week. Not if you are an Aussie, how about a minimum of $200 per day per pax for an inside cabin for Aussies booking through Princess Australia or with an Aussie T/A. That is $1400 per week, then the complimentary laundry is a bonus! As I said before I do not flog the Elite laundry, just a bag every 3 days.

As one who is not yet entitled to the laundry benefit I am a little surprised at some of the posts.
Regardless if it takes an extra day to get your laundry back, just be grateful that it is a benefit you get.
I look forward to the day when I can get this benefit and don't have things hanging all over the bathroom!!!

You might not be all that impressed with the quality of how they wash & shrink things in their hot dryers so sometimes washing out a few items in the bathroom sink isn't a bad option. The only thing we trust is their waterless cleaning system.

Unfortunately I did, so now I'm very selective about what gets sent to be laundered/cleaned. They actually reimbursed me while on the ship, but I lost 3 pair of capris.

We are. Who cares about our previous cruises?

We use the laundry perk only for what is necessary to get us through our vacation. That's what it is intended for. People who think that it's there so that they won't have to do any washing when they arrive home might be abusing the system. No business or individual likes to feel that people are taking advantage of their generosity.

I view excessive use of this service the same way I would view someone piling a platter full of fried shrimp in the buffet. There is a point beyond which it's just greed, not necessity.

Default Is This True ....

Do we find ourselves complaining about a FREE service? FREE service! A FREE perk that Princess does not have to offer at all. We have just reached Elite level and very much apprciate this FTREE service.

Just our 2 cents ... or should I say FREE?

Some members seem to just want to argue about everything, free service or services charged for. It often times amazes me that so many are just hear to debate and argue different points brought up. I often wonder if they just have a really bad life and need to take out their frustrations in cyberspace. If not, and this is the way they are in real life, it simply amazes me that there are people out there that thrive on this sort of thing.
