Congratulations! You are very lucky as you would not be allowed to board the ship in Juneau. You can not do a Juneau to Seattle trip, it is illegal.

The train in Skagway is very slow and not scary at all....

I didn't think the scenery matched the price. I like to take pictures and found it difficult to take pics from the rubbery type window that wasn't very clean. I have never had air sickness before...

The street vendors (especially Moscow and SPB) will take US dollars but the real stores are not allowed to. We were often quoted prices on the street in Euros and Dollars, not Rubles.

I agree, cold/dry is better than wet!

It was a pretty cold mid-May to early June last year compared to normal. I have gone to Alaska many times that time of year and last year was cold, dry but cold :)
